frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, you don’t need a referral from your doctor. If you have complex medical conditions it may be worth getting a referral from your doctor. From the period of April 2020 to September 2020 you may be eligible for a medicare rebate if you have a chronic health condition.  To access this rebate you would need a medicare CDM care plan referral from your doctor emailed prior to the consultation. These cannot be backdated. If you have one of these referrals use the initial booking for this that says if you have a GP CDM referral/plan.

Are consultations bulk billed?

No, consultations are not bulk billed. Payment for your consultation is done upfront to allow your dietitian to spend more time consulting with you about your specific condition. You will need to pay for your consult prior to claiming any rebates. Your dietitian is registered with all major private health funds and government rebates. Your rebate depends on your level of cover and type of referral. Please check your health fund prior to booking if you have any concerns.
